A MINI a day for the rest of the year

I’ve been saving up for this week’s posts because I’ve been pretty busy dressing up MINIs the last two weeks of 2005. Luckily for me, they’ve all been more, some much more, than simple stripes. So today I give you the offset stripes I did on an orange Cooper S convertible. The silver is metallic silver and the “above and beyond” part of this job was wrapping the boot hinge in black vinyl.

Stay tuned all week for more MINIs with the grand finale coming on Friday.

Here’s why I’ve decided the offset stripes are so cool: they draw the eye to the left and create a temporary illusion of actual Britishness because they’re leading you to look where the steering column would be on a British Mini. Maybe the whole effect would be ruined if I could see the driver behind the wheel, but in theory anyway, that’s what does it for me.
