Here’s one from a special request. It’s a Paul Smith inspired design. The design incorporates the colors seen in and on the car from the blue top to the orange stitching of the leather seats.

The bonnet stripes are also blue to match the blue convertable top. I really wanted to do the mirror caps in the same striped design but covering the whole cap was like wrapping a flat sheet of paper around a basketball. Ambitious, yes. Successful, no - at least the mirror caps anyway.
This is Phase III of graphics work on this particular MINI. I’m running out of room to put vinyl. : )
I think she’s done for a little while. BTW - this is the same MINI that has won multiple car show trophies - I like to think that the graphics had a little to do with that. : )
I picked up one of these last weekend…
It totally rocks! But then again I paid $200 extra for the black one so what else would you expect me to say - I’m such a Mac dork!
Here’s a sampling of some recent work so you can rest assured that I’ll be able to afford two MINIs when the GP arrives :)
Here’s another showroom car for the dealer with custom “37” graphics. Props go to Gabe Bridger for the 37 part of the layout since I nicked it from the hot selling Magnetic Badge Collection. By the way, those badges are selling like, well, hotcakes.
Back side.
Another car covered in checkers…
And finally a couple of new items on a Chili Red Convertable.
I have another post for the holiday weekend coming up so you won’t have to wait another month for me to post.
Good news this week. I got bumped from sixth position on my dealer list to number five when the person ahead of me backed out of their order. So it looks like I’m getting a JCW GP MINI for sure now. I was also chosen/volunteered as the dealer representative to participate in the special delivery program MINI USA is offering - details available at Motoringfile.com here. Each of the 80 US dealers chooses one GP owner to apply for special delivery in either Monterey, CA or Jersey City, NJ. I applied to pick up our GP in Monterey, CA at Laguna Seca racetrack during the Monterey Historics on August 18. Only 45 lucky owners are given this option and I should know for sure in a couple more weeks. If we don’t get into Montery we will go pick up the GP in New Jersey over Labor Day weekend where the other 35/80 owners are given the option to go. I will update as more info becomes available.
Oh and so that people will stop asking, I’m getting the Thunder Blue Metallic with silver roof - same as everyone else. : )
