It's finally here!

Well it's finally arrived. At the dealer anyway. This morning, Deanne and I took a trip over to the lot where the cars are unloaded and stored and there she was (I guess it's a she, what do you think?). It'll be a few more days before it can come home because the dealer has to install the window tint and, in the spirit of the original Monte Carlo Rally winning Mini of 1964 and 1965, some rally driving lights. I'll go in on Monday to finish the paperwork and hopefully by the end of the week we'll be motoring! So close but yet so far.

More shots of our future motoring companion are here.

The general theory is that a car, like a ship, carries the feminine pronoun “she” (although I have known exceptions).

So now you must christen your ride. Before my CRX gained its legendary “Stealth Honda” status, she was called “Jane.” I’ve named my Jetta “Marlene,” after another Teutonic bombshell. (She was almost “Greta the Jetta,” but I couldn’t abide the rhyming scheme.)

Congratulations, by the way, and try to keep her off the sidewalks… unless absolutely necessary.
